Conference Mixing 17

The 17th European Conference in Mixing, Mixing 17, took place from the 2nd to 5th July at Fundação Dr António Cupertino de Miranda. Mixing 17 was organised by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering - Working Party on Mixing jointly with a team of researchers from ALiCE/LSRE-LCM at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). Mixing 17 gathered more than 120 people with academic and industrial backgrounds that discussed the progress on mixing technology, research and application in the process industries.
The congress had 4 keynotes given by Harry Van den Akker (University of Limerick), Irina Ramos (AstraZeneca), Martina Micheletti (University College of London), and Bento Amaral (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), as well as 45 oral presentations and 40 posters. Alain Liné, Professor at INSA-Toulouse, was awarded the 2023 Alvin and Helen Nienow Lifetime Recognition Award and Margarida Brito, a researcher at ALiCE/LSRE-LCM - FEUP, was awarded the 2023 EFCE Young Researcher Award in Mixing. The Young Programme for young researchers closed Mixing 17. The first edition of this event had as its main objective to gather young researchers to promote informal talks on “Post-PhD Plan: Industry or Academia?”.
Mixing 18 will take place in Limerick, Ireland. We hope to see you there in 2026!
