Margarida Brito awarded 2023 Young Researcher in Mixing

Dr. Margarida Brito, researcher at LSRE-LCM, won the 2023 Young Researcher in Mixing by the European Federation of Chemical Engineering (EFCE), namely by the Mixing Working Party. This award was announced during the conference Mixing 17, which took place in Porto, from 2nd to 5th July. This prize recognises the quality of her PhD thesis, the impact of the field of Mixing through her publications in international journals, international activities and network, and industrial significance of the scientific activity.

Margarida concluded her PhD in 2021 at FEUP with the thesis entitled “Mixing Mechanisms in 2D Reactors”. This work consolidates the work on mesoreactors developed at LSRE-LCM from the last 2 decades, contributing to industrial solutions based on fundamental studies in mixing mechanisms. This PhD was supervised by Ricardo Santos (FEUP), José Carlos Lopes (FEUP) and Cláudio Fonte (University of Manchester).
