ALiCE coordinator invited for a governmental commission

Professor Arminda Alves, coordinator of ALiCE, was invited by the Internal Administration Ministry of Portugal to be part of a commission with 30 expert scientist from Portuguese universities to evaluate the time lapse of Portuguese forest fires that lasted more than 90 minutes. The evolution study of this summer forest fires is relevant to seek measures to improve the effectiveness of firefighter’s work and available resources.

This participation values the knowledge of scientists as part of the solution to societal problems, demonstrating an active participation and interest of ALiCE in the public policies.
