PROFILE
Alexandra Pinto, graduated in Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP), is a Full Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, since 2022, with Aggregation since 2015, Director of the Doctoral Program in Engineering Chemical and Biological (PDEQB) between 2010 and 2023. Since 1997, is a member of the Transport Phenomena Research Center (CEFT), presently the vice Scientific Coordinator and the Head of the Energy Group and presently a permanent researcher in ALiCE.
Her research work has been focused in Energy applications: Direct Methanol and Ethanol Fuel Cells, Microbial Fuel Cells and Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cells, Electrolysis and Hydrogen Generators and Storage systems. She is responsible for R&D contracts with Portuguese companies in the energy sector and strongly involved in the dissemination of Hydrogen technologies - Specialization Courses involving attendees from several sectors. She is invited regularly to be an expert evaluator of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europa Projects.
