Luís Miguel Madeira
(LEPABE)
PROFILE
L.M. Madeira graduated in Chemical Engineering (1993) and received his PhD (1998) from the Technical University of Lisbon (Portugal) in Heterogeneous Catalysis. He joined FEUP in 1999 where is presently Full Professor in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. He is the Scientific Coordinator of the research center LEPABE, a member of ALICE (coordinator of the thematic line 1. Chemical industry). L.M. Madeira is member and co-Chair of the Working Party in Chemical Reaction Engineering of the EFCE – European Federation of Chemical Engineering. His main research interests include multifunctional reactors (adsorptive-based, membrane-based, etc.), CO2 capture and valorisation (CO2 methanation, methanol synthesis, etc.), H2 production and purification technologies (e.g. reforming, water-gas shift, ammonia cracking), and advanced oxidation processes for water/wastewater and gases treatment.
